Greater focus and continuous improvement drive priorities
With the world changing at a rapid pace, the teams at Power-Packer and Gits prioritize customers’ needs to not only meet but anticipate the solutions they need.
“We see an increasing importance to operate with greater focus, speed and flexibility,” said Andre Hamer, Global Product Line Director Transportation. “Our customers’ needs play a more integral role in our business than ever before.”
Between Power-Packer and Gits, customers benefit from more than 100 years of strong engineering experience, keen understanding of customer applications and a commitment to developing solid partnerships. These building blocks help drive insight into trends and technology, and changes in the industry.
“The next generation of vehicles is already being developed with completely new engines powered by batteries, fuel cells and hydrogen combustion engines,” Hamer said. “We work to monitor and stay ahead of these changes. We anticipate trends by continuously innovating, making our products lighter, cleaner, stronger and smarter. We also strive to create a sustainable working environment for our employees, customers and suppliers, that is safer, healthier and more efficient.”
As Power-Packer and Gits work to reduce their products’ weight and make them more compact, the teams place equal importance on decreasing energy consumption without compromising the quality and reliability of the systems.
Power-Packer’s next generation of products addresses the decentralized, smart electro-hydraulic actuation systems becoming popular in the design of equipment, due to their reduced energy consumption, high performance, compact size and control options. Power-Packer recently launched an electro-hydraulic drive unit (EDU) that combines a hydraulic pump, cylinder and an electric motor. With this highly power-dense system, it is possible to vary load and velocity in either direction, independently of each element.
“We are seeing really big changes in the market: stricter emission requirements, reduction of fuel consumption, renewable fuels, electrification and focus on sustainability in the total supply chain,” Hamer said. “By developing a thorough understanding of each customer’s application and needs, we can translate these necessities into our product designs, production lines and the entire supply chain. Our customer-centric approach means we offer reliable products with the highest quality and the best functionality. It’s all about providing added value for our customers.”
